I’m a teacher with a severe case of wanderlust, a passion for seeing workout results, and a sick addiction to all things beauty-related.
When I was little, I grew up watching my mom put on makeup and loving when she would doll me up for dance revues. The first time I ever put makeup on myself was when I was on vacation in California at age 10. I experimented with black eyeshadow and an angled brush and my passion was ignited. Why do I love makeup so much? Because it can make you who you want to be, and, most importantly, it brings out your natural beauty. Don’t get me wrong, fresh faces are beautiful too (I go sans-makeup on a regular basis), but I love makeup! Lol.
I was super active in high school as a cheerleader, but once I got to college, i kind of slacked. I worked out here and there, and managed to avoid gaining more than 5 pounds throughout my 4 years in school. After I graduated, I knew I wanted to make a change and tone up. I purchased a 21 Day Fix Challenge Pack through my Team Beachbody coach and joined a challenge group. With a vacation 6 weeks away, I knew I had to do something to get bikini-ready. I decided to get my act together and see the results I wanted. I pushed myself because I needed to see results so I felt like a 10 in my bathing suit. I made sure my nutrition was on point (after all, results are 80% nutrition and 20% workouts) and made sure I was doing my best. I skipped a couple workouts here and there and my eating wasn’t always 100% clean but I saw incredible results. I felt better on the inside, and on the outside. Non-scale victories are truly most important for me, though I lost 12″ overall and 10 lbs.
